There are some people who seem destined for popularity, to have a whole bunch of friends who they like and who like them.
Then you find those who seek popularity but fail at it due to one reason or another. They however don’t realise this and think that they’ve attained popularity when in fact they’ve become popular not because everyone likes them but because they’ve become known as “the pain”.
And there are those who shy away from friendship and are all by and to themselves yet still are quite content with that choice.
Then you come to people like me who have a few in their corner. Apart from the regulars like my parents who don’t have a choice but to love me there are a few people who I can say are in my corner.
These people support me when I’m down, give that extra push I need when I feel like I can’t go on any longer or simply listen to my long boring stories when I’m in drama queen mode and think my life sucks worst than anyone else’s.
In return I do the same for them.
My friends I can count using only my fingers and no I don’t have to start with the first one for 11 I have just or maybe more than enough for that task.
What your friendship is worth is not measured by the number of friends you have, because when it comes to something like this quality matters over quantity. Don’t take me wrong, you can have one hundred friends who are true friends with whom you share that special bond.
Proverbs 18:24 says “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
For me I have a few in my corner who I know will always have a sister’s back no matter how close or far we are from each other. I must also thank God for technology- smartphones, social media, you name it distance is just another thing in today’s world.
So to you popular, or “the pain”, the one with a few in your corner and even the loner what does friendship mean to you and what’s its worth?
One friend who will always be in your corner 24/7, any type of weather, holidays even during vacations is Christ.
He’s come to become my best friend.
John 15:13 says “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man laid down is life for his friends.”
It’s unthinkable what this friend of mine did for me and for you too and at the end of the day He is the best persons to be included in the few in your corner.
It is one of the simplest things you can do since He’s already there just waiting calling you friend, all He asks is that you accept Him and call him your friend too.
What better listener, comforter, confidant, company, He’s an all in one the total package; my friend and hopefully yours too.
Blessed day to you and remember be encouraged!
